BLUE SPRINGS…Bernice Baxley Roberson, a resident of Blue Springs, died early Tuesday morning, February 17, 2015, at her home. She was 87.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 20, 2015, in the Anderson Baptist Church near Blue Springs, with Reverend Spurgeon Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the mortuary in Abbeville.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Anderson Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Wayne Ryals, 2961 Hwy 10, Clio, Alabama 36017.

            Mrs. Roberson, daughter of the late Cain Franklin Baxley and Lossie Jane Pitts Baxley, was born and reared in Barbour County in the Corinth Community. She formerly lived in Dothan, Columbus, Georgia and Holiday Shores on Lake Eufaula before returning to Blue Springs where she lived most of her adult lifetime. Mrs. Roberson was a member of the Anderson Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles King Roberson, four sisters, and six brothers.

            Surviving relatives include a daughter, Alisa Roberson Danner (Riley), three sons, Charles Kenneth Roberson (Kay), Aubrey Hershel Roberson and Leonard Hayes Roberson (Lois) and a sister, Lela M. Baxley, all of Blue Springs; ten grandchildren, Judson Danner (Jayme), Nicki Causey, Krisi Payne (Danny), Jason Roberson (Frannie), Brandi Hurst (JR), Brock Roberson (Yvonne), Carre Whitting (Nelson), Josh Roberson (Angie), Laura Lambert (Shane), Anna Hendley (Jay); two adopted grandsons, Justin Dyess (Megan) and Rob Pratt (Angie); and twenty-six great-grandchildren.

            Serving as active pallbearers will be Jason Roberson, Judson Danner, Josh Roberson, Brock Roberson, Danny Payne, and Justin Dyess.
