Betty Jean Goodwin of Elba passed away at Medical Center Enterprise on Sunday, December 14, 2014 after an extended illness.  She was 41.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 18, 2014 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Samson with Rev. Randy Hartley officiating.  Burial will follow in Goodman Independent Church Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Mrs. Goodwin was born in Covington County, Ala. on July 27, 1973 to Emma Lessie Hudson and the late Robert “Pete” Hudson.  She was also preceded in death by a sister, Emma Jean Haskins; niece, Destiny Nicole Parvin; and mother-in-law, Helen Forrister.

She is survived by her daughter, Amber Lessie Goodwin; mother, Emma Lessie Hudson; husband, Dexter Goodwin; sister, Sue Ann Parvin (Johnny); brother, Robby Hudson; grandparents, Charlie M. and Nettie L. Hudson, all of Elba; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
