Mr. Billy Joe Key, age 78 of Dothan passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from an ongoing illness at Doctors Memorial.

 

Born September 18, 1937 in Barbour County to the late Dan Key and Ruby Monk Key, Mr. Key was a retired truck driver who greatly enjoyed working, and loved his family dearly.

 

Besides his parents, Mr. Key is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Ethel Key; sister, Jewel Key Williams; brothers, Harold Junior Key and James P. Key; and sister-in-law, Mabel Mixon.

 

He leaves to cherish his memory, his son Phillip Key and wife Wanda of Slocomb; grandchildren, Craig Kelly, Chad Kelly (Amanda); great grandchild, Christian Assed; his sister, Rhoda Granberry of Headland; his brother, Roy Key (Jean) of Blue Springs; his sister-in-law, Peggy Key, and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

Graveside services will be held at 11AM, Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Headland, AL with Jerry Murphy officiating with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 5 PM until 7 PM, Friday, January 9, 2015 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.

 

Family will be accepting flowers.
