Billy R. Gilley of Skipperville, AL passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at his home.  He was 75 years of age.

Funeral Services will be held at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home in Ozark at 1:00pm on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, with Reverends Harold Peters and Dr. Danny R. Ellis officiating.  The family will receive friends and loved ones for viewing of their loving daddy from 12:00pm until time of the service.  Burial will follow at Goodwater Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Wicksburg, AL, with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing.  

Billy was a very simple man who loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren more than life itself.  He enjoyed farming, fishing with his family, and hunting and playing with his dog Bear, which was his best friend until the very end.  Billy loved to rock on his porch and to share a cup of coffee with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Walter Jake and Beatrice Mae Gilley, his brother Pat N. Gilley, four sisters Minnie Carr, Helen Williams, Francis Childree and Sarah Gilley, his daughter, Sharron E. Gilley, and a grandson, Lillynd.

Billy is survived by his children, Sheila K. Taylor (Cecil) of Panama City, FL, Gloria M. Gilley, Cynthia J. Benton (Mitch), Pamela Meadows (Joe), Sonja D. Gilley, and Jeffery R. Gilley, all of Skipperville, and Barbara L. Gilley of Ozark.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Amber, Ashley, Chris, Dezirae, Emily, Ethan, Josh, Justin, Kaylynn, Kristen, Malachi,  Megan, Nichole,Rebecca, Sabrina, Scott, Shane, Skyler, Stanlee, Tiffany, and Tim,; and his great grandchildren, Anna, Cayden, Eli,  Ellie Faith, Gracie, Harley, Hope, Jacob, Jared, Lance, Ryder, and Seth.  He is also survived by his siblings, Katherine Ellis of Ariton, and Max Gilley of Ozark.
