Bobby Ray Laseter of Abbeville, Alabama died unexpectedly Sunday, February 1, 2015 at the age of 78.



Bobby is survived by his wife Martha Hammond Laseter; children, Lois Anne Laseter of Pensacola, Florida, Rebecca Laseter Perry and her husband Bruce of Madison, Alabama; grandchildren Erin Perry Burke and her husband Gerrit, Ben Perry, and Randi-Rae Laseter Knox and her husband Tim; step children, Phillip Hayes of Birmingham, Alabama, Rachael Byrd and her daughter Chelsea, and Heather Hayes of Panama City, Florida; and brother, Robert Allen Laseter of Dothan, Alabama, as well as, three great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Bobbie Jo Laseter, mother of Lois Anne and Rebecca and by his brothers James Alto Laseter and Lynn Laseter, Jr.



           Bobby was born June 13, 1936 in Dothan, Alabama to Lynn Laseter and Lois Adams Laseter.  He graduated from Dothan High School in 1954.  Following high school he joined the Army and was stationed in Alaska.  After being honorably discharged, he attended Auburn University.  He graduated in 1960 with a degree in Civil Engineering. He began his career working for the State Road Department in Tallahassee, Florida where he married Bobbie Jo Roberston in May of 1961.  Their first daughter Lois Anne was born in March of 1962 followed by their second daughter Rebecca in November of 1963.  After working for the State Road Department, he entered employment with Texaco, Inc.  He progressed within the company working in Orlando, Florida, Tampa, Florida and Mobile, Alabama.  The family then settled in Brooksville, Florida where he worked with the Southwest Florida Water Management District.  He later began his own successful company – Laseter Engineering and Construction.  He retired in 2000 to care for wife, Bobbie Jo, during an extended illness.  After her death, he moved to Stillwater, Alabama.  He married Martha Hammond Hayes in August 2003.  He and Martha moved back to Dothan, Alabama and then to Abbeville, Alabama, where they have enjoyed their retirement.  Bobby was an active member and elder of the Presbyterian Church, USA through-out his life and a current member of The First Presbyterian Church in Fort Gaines, Georgia.



A funeral is scheduled for February 5th at Ward-Wilson Funeral Home. Visitation is at 10:00 am and the Service is at11:00 am
