Brian Lee Boydstun, 39, of Newton passed away Thursday July 17, 2014 at a local hospital following an extended illness.


Memorial services will be 2 pm Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Benjamin Johnson officiating and Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 pm until 2 pm Sunday.


Brian was born March 16, 1975 in Houston County and he resided most of his life in Newton. He attended Dale County High School and graduated from Full Sail University with a degree in audio engineering. Brian was employed with Quad Studio in Nashville, Tennessee for several years as a sound engineer. He was a talented musician and he embraced his passion by playing with several local bands in our area. He was a member of the American Federation of Musician’s Local 777. Brian was preceded in death by his father, Frankie Boydstun.


Survivors include his mother, Janice Boydstun; his brother, Ron Boydstun; his nephew, Steven Boydstun; his niece, Lauren Boydstun.
