Carolyn Joyce Shoemake of Geneva passed away at her residence on Sunday, November 23, 2014.  She was 71.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Nathan Carroll officiating.  Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. 

Ms. Carolyn was born in Hartford, Ala. on December 7, 1942 to the late Salter and Docia Pippin Strickland.  She worked for the Ladies Auxillary in Channelview, Tex. for many years, providing support for the volunteer fire department.  She loved playing slot machines, and in her younger years, she rode a motorcycle.  Ms. Carolyn loved to travel and bring home apples and spices to all her friends.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry W. Shoemake; and several siblings. 

She is survived by her daughter, Tamera Shoemake of Oshkosh, Wis.; son, Jeff Shoemake of Houston, Tex.; her beloved life partner, Carl Collins of Geneva; and her sister, Jimmie Ruth Patrick of Orlando, Fla.
