Mr. Carroll Richard Hamilton of Daleville passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at his residence in Daleville.  He was 89.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 13 at Daleville Church of Christ with Minister Jim Hopkins officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to First Choice Hospice, 966 Claxton Avenue, Elba, AL 36323.

Mr. Hamilton was born December 16, 1924 in Turkey, Texas to the late Carroll Richard and Effie Davis Hamilton.  He was retired from the United States Army.  He was also a member of Masonic Lodge # 903 in Daleville.  He was a member of Daleville Church of Christ.

His wife, Minnie Hamilton, preceded him in death.

Survivors include 2 sons: Roy L. Hamilton (Janice) of Bradford, PA, and Craig R. Hamilton (Barbara) of Echo; 3 daughters: Marcy C. Lee (Marvin) of Enterprise, Cathy S. Ray (Eugene) of Daleville, and Patty A. Distasio (Joe) of Daleville; 7 grandchildren: Julie C. Presicci, Lisa J. Schillings, Jennie Goodwin, Stephanie Lee, Richard C. Hamilton, Carla Ray, and Carolanne Carter; and numerous great-grandchildren.
