Charles Allen Batchelor of Slocomb, AL died on Friday, February 3, 2017 at home. He was 51. He was born on December 18, 1965 in Enterprise AL.  Allen was God’s special child with many physical challenges but through the years he overcame to live a full life despite the limitations. Whenever a situation beyond our control arose, he was quick to say, “It’s in the Lord’s hands.” He is still God’s special child but now resides in His home in Heaven. A unique soul, Allen never met a stranger.  Known for his loving heart, giving nature, and wit, he will be greatly missed. Allen is survived by his Mother, Dorothy Louise Batchelor-Stewart, Father, Charles Batchelor (Frankie), sisters; Kay Keel(Johnny), Renay Riley, Lisa Valasto(Matt),  brothers; Timbo Batchelor, Dewey Batchelor, and Norman Batchelor. Allen was “Uncle” to 12 nieces and nephews, 10 great nieces and nephews and a beloved nephew to his Aunts, Uncles and loved many cousins. “Uncle Allen” was his favorite name to be called by and he took his duties as such seriously and lovingly. He has touched many far and wide and his friends number many. Not one soul who had the pleasure of meeting and knowing Allen was left untouched.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 11 AM from the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Keener Batchelor officiating and Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. A visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to the service time from 1030 – 1100.
