SHORTERVILLE. . .Charles Austin Hutto, a resident of Shorterville, died Friday afternoon, December 19, 2014, in the Henry County Health & Rehabilitation Facility in Abbeville. He was 87.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 22, 2014, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Mickey Skinner officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M Monday at the mortuary.  Burial will be at 2:30 P.M. (E.S.T.) Tuesday, December 23, 2014, in the Floral Hills Cemetery in Tucker, Georgia.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions to a favorite charity.

            Mr. Hutto was born and reared in Shorterville, son of the late Charles Jefferson Hutto and Ada Lee Whatley Hutto. He served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II. Mr. Hutto lived in Stone Mountain, Georgia before returning to Henry County in 2000. He was a member of the Seventh Day Baptist Church in Hiram, Georgia. Mr. Hutto was retired as a partner in the operation of Hutto Painting and Decorating in Stone Mountain. In earlier years, he was employed as a carpenter with various general contractors on projects including three power dams, shopping centers, etc. Mr. Hutto was preceded in death by his wife, Elma Wills Hutto, two sons, Ricky Hutto and Larry Allen Hutto, a sister, Ruby G. Strickland, and two brothers, John C. Hutto and Robert E. Hutto.

            Surviving relatives include a daughter, Deborah Hutto, Atlanta; a son, Danny Hutto (Lisa), Stone Mountain, GA; a sister, Annie Elmina Mills, Shorterville; and a grandson, Daniel M. Hutto (Amy), Lafayette, LA; several nieces and nephews.
