 Charles Edward Casey


 Mr. Charles Edward Casey, 68, of Apalachicola, Florida, died at his home on Wednesday, October 29, 2014.


There will be a memorial service for sharing of memories at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2014, at Byrd Funeral Home in Dothan, Alabama, followed by visitation.


Mr. Casey was born on June 15, 1946, in Troy, Alabama.  He lived in Frisco City and Elba before moving to Dothan in 1961.  He graduated from Dothan High School in 1964.


He attended Auburn University and later went into business with his father at Casey Lumber Company.  Before moving to Apalachicola in 2006, he was employed by the Woodpile in Dothan.  He currently worked at Bay City Lodge in Apalachicola.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Catherine Casey of Dothan.


Survivors include his sons, Kevin Ballard Casey of Nashville, Tennessee, and Robert Forrester (Celena) Morris; granddaughter, Molly Anne Morris; grandson, Matthew Charles Morris all of Dothan; brothers, Sam (Wileria) Casey, Jr. of Dothan and Bert (Becky) Casey of Atlanta, Georgia.


An avid fisherman and diehard Auburn fan, Charles always had a smile on his face and a story or a joke to share with friends and family. 


In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of your choice.
