CHARLOTTE  TEW  BRANTON

 

DOTHAN…Charlotte Tew Branton, a resident of Dothan, died early Saturday evening, August 17, 2013, at her home. She was 67.

            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 20, 2013, in the Ridgecrest Baptist Church with Pastor Ray Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery, near Headland. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Monday at the mortuary in Headland.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Ridgecrest Baptist Church “Music Ministry”, 1231 Fortner Street, Dothan, AL 36301.

            Charlotte Tew Branton was born and reared in Headland, daughter of the late Reverend Clyde Tew and Lillie Taylor Tew. She was a graduate of Headland High School and Riley Business College. Charlotte was retired from AAA Cooper Transportation after forty-three years employment. She lived in Headland most of her lifetime before moving to Dothan in 1988. Charlotte was an active member of the Ridgecrest Baptist Church, the Faye Hillman Sunday School Class, and formerly sang in the church choir. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Harlan Tew.

            Surviving relatives include two sons, Tony Ellison (Brooke), and Terry Mills (Jennifer), all of Dothan; ten grandchildren, Josh, Jeremy, Luke, Lillie Kate, and Sam Ellison; Johnathan Mills (Brandi), Justin Mills, Caleb Bohannon, Christopher Mills, and Abbi Mills; two great-grandchildren, Josiah Mills and Malachi Pfifer; a special friend and caregiver, Faye Hillman; a niece, Wendelyn Faye Tew, nephews, James Harlan Tew (Sandy), Gary Lawrence Tew (Sabrina), and two special cousins, Lyvonne Burleson (Gordon), and Judy Newman, (Robert).

            Serving as active pallbearers will be Jeremy Ellison, Johnathan Mills, Justin Mills, Caleb Bohannon, Chrstopher Mills, and Luke Ellison.
