Chellie Mae Christmas

Chellie Mae Strickland Christmas died Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the age of 94.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2015 at Heritage Baptist Church with Bro. Larry Adams, Ryan Christmas, Dr. Adam Christmas, and Bro. Van Clack officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, between Headland and Dothan, with Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-6 Sunday afternoon. At other times, the family will be at the home of a daughter, Sue Brannon, 327 Lucy Grade Road, Dothan.

Flowers will be accepted or donations be made to Heritage Baptist Church, 1951 Westgate Pkwy, Dothan, AL 36303.

Chellie was born May 15, 1920 in Ewell, AL, daughter of H.O. Strickland and Susie Powell Strickland. She was a charter member of Heritage Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School, WMU and GAs.

She was formerly employed by P.C. White Truck Lines and Evergreen Presbyterian Church.

Chellie was preceded in death by her parents; L.V. Christmas; 10 brothers and sisters; granddaughter, Donna Windham; and grandson, James Anthony Baldwin.

Survivors include sons, Jimmy (Jo) Christmas of Webb, Jesse Christmas of Dothan, and Bobby (Lynn) Christmas of Pinson; daughters, Jean (Mickey) Davis and Sue (Curtis) Brannon, all of Dothan; grandchildren, Jessica (Dave) Wenberg, Adam (Kristin) Christmas, Sheri (BJ) Glover, Rhett (Allison) Davis, Brian (Amy) Davis, Ryan Christmas, Ashlynn Christmas, David (Angila) Brannon, and Joe (Miranda) Brannon; 16 great-grandchildren; and a special caregiver, Jenny Lowe.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
