Christine Gantt Parrish of Geneva passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014.  She was 82.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Jim Mashburn officiating.  Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday beginning at 1:00 p.m.  Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Poplar Head United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Margie Harrison, 904 N. Wilson St., Geneva, AL 36340. 

Mrs. Parrish was born in Houston County, Ala. on December 23, 1932 to the late W.D. “David” Gantt and Flora Paul Gantt.  She was a member of Poplar Head United Methodist Church.  She retired from GTE after more than thirty years.  She was preceded in death by her husband, A.D. Parrish.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jerome and Susie Melton Parrish of Geneva; one grandson, Austin Parrish of Philadelphia, PA; one granddaughter, Caroline Parrish of Geneva; and special cousin, Waymon Paul of Birmingham.
