CSM Gordy L. Spires (U.S. Army Ret.), passed away peacefully at his home in New Brockton, AL on Monday, July 27, 2015. He was 89 years old.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Mr. Spires was born June 11, 1926 in Dublin, GA. His military career included service in the U.S. Navy during WWII and service in the Georgia Army National Guard. His military career spanned more than 3 decades of dedicated service.

Survivors include his children, Linda Cole, Elaine Rose, Tony Spires, and Keith Simpson; 10 grandchildren and more than 15 great-grandchildren; his loving caregiver, Jennie Jerkins of New Brockton.
