CW4 (Ret) Jim Summerford, age 67, of Ashford, AL passed away, Monday, December 29, 2014 in Southeast Alabama Medical Center.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Pastor Fred Bacher and Rev. Jim Duhaime officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to services.  Memorials may be made to Team RWB (Wounded Warriors), 101 Live Oak Drive, Enterprise, AL  36330.

Mr. Summerford retired from the US Army in 1995 as a helicopter pilot following 25 years service.  He was a Vietnam Veteran.  He worked at Flight Safety as a civilian flight instructor for 15 years.

Mr. Summerford was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy M. Summerford.

Survivors include a son, Ben Summerford (Lydia) Titus, AL; two daughters, Michelle Boswell (Jeremy) Enterprise, AL; Rene Hill (David), Taylor, AL; six grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Linda Walker.
