CW4(RET) Jesse Taylor of Enterprise passed away Friday, May 9, 2014 at his home.  He was 85.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at St. John Catholic Church with Father Gregory Okorobia officiating.  Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends at the church from 9:00 AM until service time.  Memorial contributions may be made to:  St. John Catholic Church Building Fund, 123 Heath Street, Enterprise, AL  36330.

CW4 Taylor retired from the US Army after 30 years of service.  He served in several locations in the U.S. as well as a tour in Vietnam, two tours in Korea, and three tours in Germany.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Taylor, Enterprise; 5 sons, Jesse Lee Taylor, Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Thomas H. Taylor, Jacksonville, FL, Larry John Shoap, Aldie, VA, Gary Jude Shoap, Enterprise, AL, Steven Christopher Shoap, St. Augustine, FL; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, James Taylor (June), Elberta, AL, William Taylor (Sarah) Robertsdale, AL; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice for all their love and care, especially Sherry R. Johnson.
