CWO (Ret) Robert “Bob” Wayne Holley of Samson, AL, went home to his Lord and Savior Friday, June 5, 2015, at his home with his sons and daughter by his side.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2015, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral home in Geneva with the Rev. John Holley officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continue until service time with Masonic rites.  Burial will follow at the Eight Mile Cemetery with full military honors and Sorrells Funeral Home and Cremtory of Geneva directing.

Mr. Holley was born on January 18, 1946 in Hacoda, AL, to the late James Gaston and Dolly Aplin Holley. He was the youngest of seven brothers and sisters.  He loved his country very much, having served 20 years in the U.S. Army and 22 years in Civil Service for the United States Government.  During both of his careers he traveled the world; Viet Nam, Korea, Germany, Barbados, Macedonia, Saudi Arabia and Iraq are a few of the countries in which he worked.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Rita Alyne McCardle Holley, his six siblings; Thomas Ethel Holley, James Otis Holley, Pankey Merle Player, Nancy Christine Beck, John Sherwood Holley, and Gaston Ray Holley.

He is survived by his three children, Joseph Wayne Osborne, Daniel Wayne Holley and his wife Lorraine, and Dara Alyne Holley Brown and her husband Nikeith; his ten grandchildren, Jeffrey Holley, Cassandra Florence, Amanda Holley, Kyle Osborne, Sarah Holley Galloway, Jenifer Speed, Robbie Florence, Emily Holley, Aliyah Brown and Ivy Brown; two great-grandsons, Victor Von-Roy Osborne and Jackson Alexander Michael Galloway;  many nieces and nephews and also many friends across the world.
