David A. Feeley


David A. Feeley, a resident of Dothan, died Friday, September 13, 2013 in Birmingham. He was 66.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 16, 2013 at St. Columba Catholic Church with Rev. Patrick Gallagher officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Andalusia, Alabama at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Antony Pullakattu Xavier officiating and Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at Byrd Funeral Home from 5 until 7 on Sunday.


Flowers are being accepted or memorials may be made to the American Legion.


Mr. Feeley was born April 8, 1947 in Fort Dodge, Iowa and lived the early years of his life there. Upon graduation from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served a tour in Vietnam. After his military discharge he attended McArthur Technical School in Opp. In 1977, he moved to Dothan where he resided the past 36 years. Mr. Feeley was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church.


Survivors include his wife, Margaret Feeley of Dothan; three children, Andy Jefcoat of Dothan, Elizabeth Kelley (Jim) of Jacksonville, FL, Lynn Wright (David) of Suffolk, VA; grandchildren, Joseph Berry, Daniel Kelley, Christopher Kelley (Brook Holmes); a great-granddaughter, Lila Kelley; two brothers, Larry Feeley (Ginger) and Ronnie Feeley (Virginia), all of Fort Dodge, Iowa; a sister, Cathy Hewitt (Perry), of Fort Dodge, Iowa; several nieces and nephews also survive.
