CLIO…….David Blankenship, a resident of Clio, died Monday morning, October 13, 2014.  He was 55.


            Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 15, 2014, in the Emmanuel Baptist Church, in Elamville, with Pastor Orlando Buck and Reverend Keven Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary Assembly of God Church Cemetery, near Clio. Holman Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. Wednesday in the church sanctuary. At other times, the family will be at the home of his sister, Elaine, 489 County Road 120, Ariton, AL 36311.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Assembly of God Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 393, Clio, AL 36017.


            David Blankenship was a lifelong resident of Clio and attended the Emmanuel Baptist Church.  He was formerly employed with DSI Security in Dothan as an electronic technician. David was preceded in death by his father, James Fred Blankenship.


            Surviving relatives include his daughter, Brittany Taylor, Headland; a son, Justin Blankenship, Clio; his mother, Billie Jewel Kirkland Blankenship, Clio; a sister, Elaine Maund (Martin), Ariton; three brothers, Mike Blankenship (Patty), Clio,  Tim Blankenship (Debbie), Ariton, and Reverend Keven Blankenship (Genia), Calera, AL; several nieces and nephews.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Matt Blankenship, Eric Blankenship, Danny Cox, John Reed Shehane, Stephen Murphy, and Van Bowden.
