Mr. David Lynn Brackett, Sr. of Peak Road, Westville, Florida passed away Monday, January 05, 2015.  He was 72.


Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2015, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Clyde Smith and Bro. James Lamb officiating.  Burial will follow in the Poplar Head United Methodist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, January 8, 2014, from 6 until 8 p.m.


Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Neurofibromatosis Foundation.


Mr. Brackett was born December 15, 1942, in Big Springs, Texas, to the late Hershel Francis and Jessie Gertrude Ballard Brackett.  He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam Era.  He enjoyed woodworking and playing his guitar.  David was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather.  He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them.  He attended Mt. Pleasant Assembly of God Church.


In addition to his parents, his daughter, Kathy Lassienge, and his mother-in-law, Mildred Ergas, preceded him in death.


Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Chrisula Mitchell Ergas Brackett of Westville, FL; four children: David Jr. (Shera) Brackett of Houston, TX, Misti Crowder of Blue Ridge, GA, Stephaine (Johnny) Bane of Houston, TX, Crystal Guy of Blue Ridge, GA; son-in-law, Jake Lassienge of Crosby, TX; eight grandchildren: Jonathan Crowder, Kristi Sloan, Joshua LeVay, Shyanne Bane, Ean Lassiegne, Zech Gomez, Jaylee Gomez and Gayge Guy; five great-grandchildren: Kaisen Crowder, Kaieda Crowder, Elijah Crowder, Josey Kay Sloan and Arie Crowder; two brothers: Richard (Nikki) Brackett of Westville, FL and Michael Brackett of Houston, TX; one nephew, Christopher Weeks and one niece, Suzanne Chitty; his beloved canine friend, Dutchess Brackett.


Serving as pallbearers will be Jake Lassienge, Johnny Bane, Joshua LeVay, Christopher Weeks, Richard Brackett, Michael Brackett and David Brackett, Jr.
