Debbie Whitley Cain passed in the early morning hours of Tuesday, September 3, 2014, at her home. 

Debbie was born in Valdosta, GA, December 27, 1955, to Jim & Patricia Whitley.  She graduated from Decatur High School in 1974 then attended the University of Alabama where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority.  There she met her husband, Stan Cain, and they were married September 2, 1978.

They lived in Columbia, SC, and Dallas, TX, before moving to Dothan in 1988.  Debbie was employed with Manpower for over 24 years. 

Debbie is survived by her husband of 36 years, Stan, her daughter, Sarah (Wes) Tyson of Dothan, and son, Andrew of Montgomery; parents Jim & Patricia Whitley of Graceville; Sister Katherine (Jim) Lewis, Dothan; In-laws Charles and Lillian Cain of Dothan; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Glen & Betty Cain, Dothan; granddaughters Hannah Barrett and Lillian Tyson, Dothan.

Debbie was a kind soul that was an encourager to all and will be remembered as one who shared her happiness, joy, and faith to all she encountered. Debbie was a loving Wife, Mother, Daughter, Grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with Reverend Ray Jones and Mrs. Margaret Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 9 AM until service time.

Pallbearers will be Harry Smith, Charlie Allen, Chuck Houston, Tim Skipper, Franklin Bohannon, Jim Butterfield.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Debbie’s memory may be made to Comprehensive Cancer Center, 1720 2^nd Ave South, Birmingham, AL 35294.
