Deborah J. Wilkerson of Samson passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2016. She was 85. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2016, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Samson with Rev. Jimmy Eddins officiating. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Assembly of God Church Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Thursday, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Mrs. Wilkerson was born in Covington County on February 17, 1931, to the late George W. Revels and Claudie Weeks Revels.  She was a longtime member at Pace Assembly of God Church in Pace, FL, where she worked as a childcare provider for many years.  For the last ten years, she was a member of Samson First Assembly of God Church.   Mrs. Wilkerson loved flowers and enjoyed sewing in her pastime. She was preceded in death by all four of her siblings.

She is survived by her husband of seventy-one years, Alphus Wayne Wilkerson of Samson; three daughters, Lucretia Reeves (Jim) of Enterprise, Kay Reed of Montgomery and Denise Watford of Samson, son, Alphus Leniel Wilkerson (Rhonda) of Chiefland, FL; six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
