DeVaughn “De” Toole born January 26, 1926 in Bruce, FL, formerly of Eufaula, Dothan and most recently of Birmingham, went to be with the Lord early in the morning on Friday, April 10th after a long illness.  He served in the U.S. Army and Alabama National Guard, worked for Alabama Power Company and was a member of Amateur Radio Relay League.  Through his corporation, Lake Communications and Electronics, he built radio station WDMT in Eufaula, from the ground up.


De was preceded in death by his parents: William Hosea Toole and Stella Simmons Toole, his siblings: Duvard Toole, Dewilda Toole Batts, Douglas Toole and John M. “Buck” Toole. 


He is survived by his wife Mary Lolley Toole, his sister Bonnie Toole Barton, three children John William Toole (Brenda Quick Toole) Jerry Toole (Susan Walters Toole) and Cindy Toole Holmes (Robert J. Holmes deceased).  He has five grandchildren: Brandy Toole Rixey (Adam Rixey), Brittany Carol Toole, Devon Holmes, Randolph DeVaughn Toole and John Russell Toole (Stephanie Broughton Toole).  He has two great-grandchildren: Barret Reese Rixey and Maison Olivia Rixey.


Visitation will be held at Ward Wilson Funeral Home, in Dothan, on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 1:00 pm, with funeral service at 2:00 pm.  Burial will be at Memory Hill Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association
