Mr. Donnie B. Holland of Level Plains, Alabama passed away Sunday, August 10, 2014 at his residence surrounded by family. He was 84.

 

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Enterprise with Reverend Rinnie Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Enterprise directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 pm.

 

Mr. Holland was born November 9, 1929 in Midland City, AL to the late Thomas A. and Rosa Belle Smith Holland. He was a homebuilder in the Enterprise area for many years. He also had a love for the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

 

In addition to his parents, seven brothers preceded him in death.

 

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Sara Newsom Holland, Level Plains; four sons: Jerry Holland (Brenda), Level Plains, AL, Mike Holland (Donna), Jack, AL, David Holland (Beverly), Chancellor, AL, Charles Holland (Pam), Daleville, AL; two daughters: Shirley Tanner (Larry), Hartford, AL, Pat Brooks (Keith), Dallas, TX, 21 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Pallbearers will be Mike Holland Jr., Dennis Watkins Jr., Shawn Holland, Chris Holland, John Holland, Cody Holland, Nick Holland, and Collin Tanner.
