Doris Inez Bell Oswalt, age 86, of Dothan, passed away Monday, October 20, 2014 at Wesley Manor Nursing Home.


 


Born May 12, 1928 in Mathiston, Mississippi to the late Walter and Hortense Bell. Mrs. Oswalt was a caring, supportive pastor’s wife for 28 years. Mrs. Oswalt loved her family; she was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and working with her flowers. She was a member of Selma Baptist Church.


 


In addition to her parents, Mrs. Oswalt was preceded in death by her husband, Bro. John R. Oswalt; her daughter-in-law, Shirley Oswalt; and brother-in-law, Louis Hollingsworth.


 


Survivors include her son, Bobby Wayne Oswalt; her daughters, Linda Oswalt TerHark (Dave) of Atlanta, GA, and Cindy Oswalt Folkes (Wayne) of Dothan; her grandchildren, Tammy Oswalt Weeks, Christie Oswalt Saether (Mike), Eddie Wilkins (Jennifer) , Lindsey N. Hicks (Jeff), Cori Folkes Harrell (Brandon), Ashley Folkes, Candy Folkes Willis, Wesley Jenkins (Gail), Cindy Jenkins Boddie (Bill); great grandchildren, Andrew, Grant, Elizabeth, Cooper, Sam, Josie, Tristan, Kaeley, Reygan, and Ryan; sister, Mary Evelyn Hollingsworth; and sister-in-law, Mary Oswalt Fulgham; and brother-in-law Paul Oswalt (Martha).


 


Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM, Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Richard Sego, Brother Andrew Hall and Brother Brent Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 PM until service time Thursday, October 23, 2014.


 


Family will be accepting flowers or contributions can be made to the local Alzheimer’s Association.
