Dorothy Hargrove Buck, a resident of Enterprise, AL, formerly of Amelia Island, FL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 12, 2016, with her family by her side. She was 84.


She is preceded in death by a son and two sisters.


Dolly is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Clifford Benjamin Buck, Jr., son John M. Buck       (Kitty), four grandchildren, Katie Buck Cotter (Adam), John Benjamin Buck, Cecily B. Lavoie (Chris), Benjamin Waldo Buck Jr. (Haley), and three great grandchildren John Hagan Cotter, Hudson Lavoie, and Benjamin Waldo Buck III.


Dolly was born in Bartow, FL, where she met and married the love of her life, Ben Buck.  She    graduated from Florida State University and was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and the Village Vamps. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and taught elementary school for years in Florida and California.


Dolly was a graduate of the Floral Design School, Dolly loved flower gardens, flower arranging, wild     flowers, trees, bird watching, and was a professional exhibiting water color artist for over 30 years.


She was an active member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Fernandina Beach, FL, and The Church of the Good Shepherd, Cashiers, NC, Amelia Island Chapter of the DAR, Island Art Association, and Valley Garden Club of Cashiers, NC.


A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 18, 2016, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Fernandina Beach, FL.


In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to The St. Peter’s Episcopal Church Cemetery Fund.
