ABBEVILLE. . .Dorsey Edison Payne, a resident of Abbeville, died Friday morning, June 3, 2016, in a Dothan hospital. He was 60.

            Graveside services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Sunday, June 5, 2016, in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery-East with Reverend Mickey Skinner officiating. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the mortuary.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Lakeside Christian Fellowship, P.O. Box 218, Abbeville, AL 36310.

            Dorsey Payne was born in Atmore, Alabama, son of the late Dewey Edward Payne and Clare Belle Qualls Payne. He moved to Abbeville about twenty years ago. Dorsey was a member of the Lakeside Christian Fellowship. He was employed by Anderson Construction Company in Ft. Gaines as a Project Superintendent.

            Surviving relatives include his wife, Peggy Wilson Payne; a daughter, Susan Money (Chris), Headland; a son, Chris I. Money, Abbeville; three grandchildren, Bridget Money, Seth Money and Jolie Money; a sister, Tammy Jackson (William), Atmore, AL; and a brother, Douglas Payne (LaJune), East Brewton, AL; several nieces and nephews.

            Serving as active pallbearers will be Trey Anderson, Paul Bates, Keith McLeod,  David Anderson, Tim Chandler, Tim Skipper and Mack Goff.
