Doug Lawson, age 65, of Elba, AL, passed away, Monday, June 3, 2013 in St. Vincent East Hospital, Birmingham, AL.

           Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Rev. Tommy McCormick officiating.  Burial will follow in Damascus Cemetery.  

           Mr. Lawson was a Veteran having served a tour in Vietnam and was retired from the U. S. Army.  He was the founding pastor of Victory Tabernacle Church.

           Mr. Lawson was preceded in death by his father and mother, Button and Daisy Lawson, four brothers and one sister.

           Survivors include his wife, Ruby Lawson, Elba, AL; two daughters, Connie Macon (Darron); Cindy Shaeffer (Bryan) both of Enterprise, AL; one son, Steven Lawson (Jennifer) Dothan, AL; six grandchildren, Bethany Macon; Tanner Macon; Garrett Barefoot; Peyton Shaeffer; Hayden Lawson; Jada Lawson.
