Durward Hundley, U.S. Navy (Ret) passed away November 11, 2012, at his residence. He was born February 28, 1931 in Slocomb, AL, the son of Hiram and Birdie Hundley.  Durward retired from the Navy following 30 years of distinguished and decorated service. Durward is remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who enjoyed fishing.


 


 Mr. Hundley was preceded in death by his first wife Mildred. 


 


He loved his granddaughters Christina Hundley, Amanda Flores, MaKenzie Price and grandsons Christopher and Adam Hundley.  In addition to them, he is survived by his loving wife of seven years, Brenda Hundley; his son Forrest Hundley and his wife Terry; his sisters Becky Tindell and Opal Forshee; his brother Jennings Hundley and his wife Betty Jo, step-daughter, Gwynne Price and many other loving family members and friends.


 


Memorial services in celebration of his life will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, November 24, 2012, in the chapel of Ward Wilson Memorial Hill Funeral Home, 2414 Hartford Highway, Dothan. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30 to 10 A.M. Saturday, November 24, 2012.


 


In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations in his name be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org or Covenant Hospice at 2855 Ross Clark Circle, Dothan, AL 36303, or Alzheimer’s Research.
