Mr. Earl Pridgen of Samson, Alabama went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 29, 2014.  He was 77.


Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in the Ganer Community with Rev. Phillip Barnes and Rev. Wesley Spivey officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, December 1, 2014, from 5 until 7 p.m.


The family asked that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made to the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.


Earl was born June 12, 1937, in Geneva County, Alabama to the late S. E. and Annie Merle Watkins Pridgen.  He enjoyed the outdoors; working on the farm “just piddling” with his John Deere tractor, gardening and fishing, but most of all spending time with his twin brother, Jearl.  After several years of service he retired from Dyncorp as an aircraft mechanic.  Earl was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in the Ganer Community.


In addition to his parents, his twin brother, Jearl Pridgen, father-in-law, Waylon Ward, Sr. and his brother-in-law, Waylon Ward, Jr., preceded him in death.


Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Linda Sue Ward Pridgen; one sister, Jeanette (Tommy) Willingham; mother-in-law, Evelyn Ward; sister-in-law, Margaret Pridgen, all of Samson; one niece, Ann Pridgen (George) Bernard of Slocomb; three nephews: Gary Willingham of Samson, Dale Willingham of Geneva and Chad (Amber) Ward of Madrid; several special great nieces and nephews; other extended family and friends.
