CLOPTON. . .Eathel Trawick Walker Mason, a resident of the Clopton Community in Dale County, died late Saturday afternoon, July 6, 2013, in a Dothan hospital. She was 66.


            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 9, 2013, in the Clopton United Methodist Church with Reverend Kenneth Preston officiating. Burial will follow in the Clopton Cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Monday at the mortuary in Abbeville.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Clopton Cemetery Fund, c/o Thomas Waters, P.O. Box 366, Clopton, AL 36317.


            Mrs. Mason was born and reared in Blue Springs, Alabama, daughter of the late Charles Wesley Trawick and Nellie Florine Baxley Trawick. She lived in the Clopton Community most of her adult lifetime. Mrs. Mason was a member of the Magnolia United Methodist Church and attended the Clopton United Methodist Church. She was formerly employed by WestPoint Stevens in Abbeville and Higgins Electric in Dothan. Mrs. Mason was preceded in death by a son, Roger Dale Walker, Jr., two sisters, Lucy Jane Baxley and Johnnie Robinson, and a brother, Wesley Trawick.


            Surviving relatives include her husband, Wesley Robert Mason, Clopton; a daughter, Rena Walker Jones (Huey), Abbeville; a son, Charles Walker (Bonnie), Skipperville; a sister, Dorothy Sooter, Skipperville; a sister-in-law, Jackie Trawick, Ozark; six grandchildren, Cassidy Walker, Josh Walker, Alyssa Jones, Austin Walker, Brianna Jones, and Katherine Walker; a great-granddaughter, Aubrey Toole and a great-grandchild on the way; several nieces and nephews.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Cliff Townsend, Tommy Cook, Ben Day, Jimmy Walker, Charlie Day, Tony Baxley, Tim Beverett, William Parr, and Pete Walker.
