Obituary: Edd Mark Bowden

 

Edd “Mark” Bowden of Enterprise went home to be with his Lord and Savior early Saturday morning, September 12, 2015 at the Medical Center Enterprise after suffering an apparent heart attack. He was 61.

 

Funeral services will be 2:00pm Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the New Home Baptist Church with Rev. Cliff Quincey officiating. Burial will follow in the New Home Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Enterprise directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6pm until 8pm. Mark will be placed into the church one hour before service time.

 

Flowers will be accepted or contributions can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 3343 Peachtree Road, Atlanta, GA 30326.

 

Mark was born May 27, 1954 in Coffee County to the late Marvin Bowden and Margie Howell Bowden. He grew up on the family farm in Goodman and he attended Goodman Jr. High School as well as Enterprise High School. He loved helping others, spending time with his family and being out on the farm. Mark spent most of his life in the earth moving business operating heavy equipment. He was known for his excellent attention to details and precision in each of the jobs that he completed. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Ralph and Ellen Howell, his paternal; grandparents, Buster and Katherine Bowden as well as 2 sisters, Karen Bowden Keel and Sue Bowden Medley. 

 

Survivors include his wife, Regena Bowden, Enterprise, his son: Joshua Bowden (Amanda), Enterprise, AL, his mother: Margie Bowden, Goodman Community, three sisters: Carol Alameda (Skip), Janet Barefoot and Lynn Kelsoe (John) all of Goodman Community, one brother-in-law: Ricky Medley, Enterprise, AL, grandchildren: Hayley, Makayla, Jason and Brently Bowden all of Enterprise, AL, several nieces and nephews.
