Edna Merle Baston Jackson passed away Monday, July 22, 2013 at Knollwood Pointe Assisted Living in Mobile, Alabama. She was 91. She lived at 820 Dusy Street in Dothan for 57 years.

 

The viewing will be held at 10 AM Friday, July 26, 2013, at Ward Wilson Funeral Home. There will be a graveside service at 11 AM at Memory Hill Cemetery with Reverend Bob Gross officiating.

 

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church, 300 W. Main Street, Dothan, AL 36301.

 

Mrs. Jackson was born August 17, 1921, in Coffee County. She was the daughter of Robert Baston, Sr. and Lena Lee Baston. She worked for Big Star (Colonial Stores) for over 40 years as a cashier, then the bookkeeper and front end manager. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Dothan.

 

Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 64 years, Oscar Odell Jackson and her son, Danny Ray Jackson.

 

Survivors include her daughter, Terry Jackson Gott, and husband, Bill, of Mobile, AL and grandson, Christopher Schwab, his wife, Ashley and daughter, Caroline, of Montgomery, AL.
