EDWARD  GREY  GIVENS, JR.

 

HEADLAND. . .Edward Grey Givens, Jr., a resident of Headland, died Friday, October 18, 2013, at his home. He was 51.

            Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 21, 2013, in Gardens of Memory, between Headland and Dothan, with Reverend Mike Griggs officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 P.M. Monday at the mortuary.

            Mr. Givens was a lifelong resident of Headland and attended Headland High School. He owned and operated Southeast Tool & Equipment and was also employed as an accountant. In earlier years, Mr. Givens was engaged in farming. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Grey Givens, Sr., and brothers-in-law, Harold Land, Carey Cherry, and Douglas Reynolds.

            Surviving relatives include his mother, Olene Mitchell Givens, Headland; two sisters, Shirley Cherry and husband, Randall Head, Kinsey; and Cathy McLeod and husband, Michael McLeod, Headland; two nieces, Diane Eubanks (Floyd), and Karen Goad (Tim); a nephew, Jarrett McLeod; a special friend, Brad Shaw, and the Shaw children.
