Edward Hugh Spivey, 82, died December 17, 2016 at his home in Dothan, after an extended illness.

 

Mr. Spivey was born on December 8, 1934 in Dale County, AL. He was the middle of three children born to the late Franklin Otto Spivey and Mary Gladys Baldwin Spivey.

 

Mr. Spivey attended Carroll High School in Ozark, AL. In 1953 he married Eloise Douglas of Dothan. He worked in the retail grocery business for over 65 years.

 

Mr. Spivey is survived by his wife, Eloise and his daughter, Rebecca (Ben Welborn) of Montgomery, AL. He is further survived by grandchildren, Justin Owens of Montgomery, AL. Heather Owens of Fayette, AL. and Kelton Welborn of Lee County, AL. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, and sister, Nell Odem of Albany, GA. other relatives, many friends, and his beloved pet, Weezie.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Spivey of Ozark, AL and his son, Edward D. Spivey. 

 

Visitation will be held Tuesday December 20, 2016 at 11 A.M. at Ward Wilson Funeral Home followed by interment at Memory Hill Cemetery.

 

Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to the American Lung Association, or the charity of your choice.
