Eldon Bryant of Enterprise passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.  He was 78.


Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM, Saturday, February 15, 2014, at First United Methodist Church in Daleville, where he was an active member, with Rev. John McCollough officiating.  Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends at the church from 10:30AM until service time. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Daleville, 44 South Daleville Avenue, Daleville, AL  36322.


He was born in Coleman County, Texas, where he lived until age 14 when his parents moved the family to California.  He lived there until 10 years ago when he moved to Enterprise to be with Bettie.  They had met two years prior when both were working for the summer in Yellowstone National Park.


He was an Army Veteran and a graduate of Fresno State College.


He started work at an early age and worked hard all of his live until his retirement in 2001.  During his years in Enterprise, he and Bettie had the time and means to do a lot of traveling.  They enjoyed a number of lengthy road trips and saw most of the United States together.


Survivors include his wife and best friend, Bettie Bryant; son, Russ and his wife Lori; daughters, Kim and husband Tim; Jennifer and husband Ed; all of California; daughter, Melody and husband Vince; son, Wes and wife Tammy; all of Enterprise; brother, David Bryant, California; four grandchildren, Kara, R. J., Garrett and Elizabeth.
