Mrs. Emilee Walton Rush, age 91 of Dothan passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015.
Services celebrating the life of Mrs. Emilee will be held at 1 PM, Monday, March 9, 2015 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Reverend Wes Kelley officiating.
Born February 28, 1924 in Waverly, Alabama to the late Clifford Lewis and Carrie Lee Akin Walton, Emilee was a member of First United Methodist Church of Dothan. A graduate of Auburn University (Alabama Polytechnic Institute), Emilee retired as a supervisor with the Alabama Medicaid Agency. An avid gardener and bird watcher, Emilee also loved to read and crochet and did so for many years. Her family also has wonderful memories of Emilee’s cooking.
In addition to her parents, Emilee was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Robert Heyward Rush and her brother Cliff Walton.
Survivors include her sons, Charles Walton Rush and his wife, Julie and Bob Rush; her grandchildren, Emily Roberts and her husband Max, Andrew Rush, Paul Rush, and Carolyn Rush; her brother, Dan Walton; and many other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff of The Terrace at Grove Park and the 7th hall at Extendicare for their compassionate care. The family would also like to thank Paige Mims and Jane Arwood for their care and friendship.
