Emma Giles Buckner

Emma Giles Buckner, 82, of Wicksburg, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2014 at her residence.

The family will receive friends at Byrd Funeral Home on West Main Street from 5 until 9 p.m. on Tuesday. Funeral services will be held later this week at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home in Ft. Oglethorpe, Georgia.

Mrs. Buckner was born April 23, 1932 in Catoosa County, GA and lived most of her life in Rossville, GA. She has been a resident of Wicksburg for the past several years. She was employed as a nurse and a beautician during her working career. She loved art, especially painting. Mrs. Buckner was of the Church of God of Prophecy faith.

She is survived by a son, Melvin Giles (Jan) of Wicksburg; 3 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; a sister, Doris Gordy of Rossville, GA.
