Emma LueVern Raley, age 78, of Dothan, AL., passed away Tuesday, February 03, 2015 at her home.


Funeral services for Ms. Raley will be Friday, Feb. 6, at 2 p.m., at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Price of Slocomb  officiating. Burial will follow at Webb Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening, Feb. 5, from 6 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.


Ms. Raley was born January 27, 1937 in Houston County and lived the early years of her life in Webb. She has been a resident of Dothan for more than 45 years and was a member of Webb Baptist Church. She always had a smile on her face and will be dearly missed by those who knew her. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Ms. Raley loved gardening and the outdoors.


Ms. Raley was preceded in death by her parents, R.D. and Lottie Hatcher; two brothers, Robert Hatcher, Jr., and James W. “Rip” Hatcher and two sisters, Mary Ellen Yance and Boncille Cochran.


She is survived by two daughters, Christy Cross of Dothan and Vicki Forehand (Paul) of Slocomb; three grandchildren, Amy Forehand, Brian Cross and Brandy Nowell (Robert); two great grandchildren; Kayla and Karley Nowell; a special sister-in-law, Ann Hatcher of Abbeville and a lifelong friend, Gayvon Braswell of Dothan.


Serving as pallbearers for Ms. Raley will be her nephews Ronnie Cochran, Arthur Junior Cochran, Greg Cochran, Kenny Yance, Kent Hatcher, Randy Hatcher and Tim Hatcher.
