Mr. Eugene Coleman of New Brockton, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2015.  He was 95.


Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 17, 2015 at First United Methodist Church in New Brockton with Reverend Ben McKee and Reverend Craig Bailey officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing.  The family will receive friends at the church Friday beginning at 12:00 and continuing until service time.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 118 N Dawkins Street, New Brockton, AL 36351.


Eugene was born April 6, 1920, in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, to the late Monroe and Mahalia Hardin Coleman.  He was a dedicated member of First United Methodist Church in New Brockton.


In addition to his parents, his first wife, Mary Coleman, his second wife Voncille N. Coleman, 7 sisters, and a brother all preceded him in death.


Survivors include 2 sons: Chuck Coleman, Level Plains and Eddie Hill (Misuk), New Brockton; 4 step-daughters: Patricia Edwards, New Brockton, Lynn Mauldin, Stone Mountain, GA, Loretta Thornton (Kenneth), Enterprise, Sherlene Newton (Robert), Elkton, MA; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
