US Army (Ret) Lieutenant Colonel Eugene Townsend Boyd of New Brockton passed away on Monday, May 25, 2015 at his home.  He was 84.

Private memorial services will be held at a later time.

In lieu of flowers and food, memorials may be made to DaySpring Hospice, P.O. Box 311246, Enterprise, AL 36331.

Mr. Boyd was born September 9, 1930, in Enterprise, Alabama, to the late Norma Townsend Boyd and Leon A. Boyd II.  Upon his retirement from the US Army, he became an instructor pilot at Fort Rucker.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, L.A. Boyd III, and a son, Eugene Townsend Boyd Jr. (Bud).

Survivors include his wife, Doris Ann Nichols Boyd of New Brockton, AL; 3 daughters: Debra Boyd Branch (Ron) of Boone, NC, Lisa Boyd Fuller of Birmingham, AL, and Tammie Boyd Moore (Garreth) of Enterprise, AL; a brother: Julian H. Boyd (Lyra) of Enterprise, AL; a daughter-in-law, Dana Boyd of New Brockton, AL; a sister-in-law, Maggie Dean Boyd of Elba, AL; 8 grandchildren: Joe Branch, Boyd Branch, Kailin Fuller Glass, Meredith Fuller, Everett Fuller, Julia Moore, Caroline Moore, and Whitt Cotter; 4 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
