Eula Belle Smith Monday, 77, wife of Ralph Monday, of Ashford, Alabama, passed away Friday, May 24, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.


Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 27, 2013 at Howards Grove Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Austin Phillips and Chaplain Eddie Bliss officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. today at the funeral home and at other times will be at the family residence.


Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 2740 Old Headland Avenue, Dothan, Alabama 36303.


Born in Houston County Alabama, Belle was a daughter of the late Kermit and Willie Green Whitaker Smith. She was a graduate of Ashford High School and Riley Business College. She was a homemaker and member of Howards Grove Freewill Baptist Church.


Mrs. Monday was preceded in death by daughter, Sybil Ramona Womack; a sister, Rebekah Reeves; a step son, Freddy Monday;  a step son-in-law, Larry Rogers.


In addition to her husband she is survived by a son, Melvin (Kyong) Womack, Land of Lakes, FL; a daughter, Karen (Ken) Amos, Mt. Juliet, TN; two step daughters, Marcia Rogers, Panama City, FL and Gwen Steverson, Graceville, FL; one step daughter-in-law, Patricia Monday, Wicksburg, AL; a brother, Stancil (Florie) Smith, Grand Ridge, FL; six sisters, Dora Crody, Dothan, AL, Pearl Shiver, Fayetteville, NC, Charlsie McDonald, Marianna, FL, Ellen Mugler, Ashford, AL, Sherry Cofer, New Port News, VA; seventeen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren; Several nieces and nephews.


The family wishes to say a special thank you to Gentiva Hospice and the personal care givers.
