Obituary:  Evelyn Hardy McLin

Mrs. Evelyn Hardy McLin of Daleville passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at the family residence.  She was 80

Funeral services will be at 3:30 pm Sunday, March 16 at Daleville Baptist Church with Reverend James Kilpatrick and Judge Bill Filmore officiating.  Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Enterprise directing.  The family will receive friends at the church Sunday beginning at 2:00 and continuing until service time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Daleville Baptist Church, 100 Donnell Blvd., Daleville, AL 36322.

Mrs. McLin was born March 1, 1934 in Munson, FL to the late Dewey and Gladys Coogle Hardy.  She went from being a military wife and mother of three to being a very successful full-time businesswoman.  She was a devoted Sunday School teacher and served on the fellowship committee at Daleville Baptist Church for more than 30 years.  Mrs. McLin was Daleville Woman of Year in the early 1980s and she served on the board of officers at the Daleville Chamber of Commerce for over 20 years.  She served over 30 years as a hostess at Ozark Nursing Home for their monthly birthday parties.  She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. 

Her parents and one sister preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband to whom she was devoted for 63 years, James R. McLin; her children: Randy McLin, Ricky McLin (Kay), and Sandy McLin Mione (Dan), all of Daleville; 3 granddaughters; 3 grandsons; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Dodson Hardy (Gayle) and Timmy Hardy, all of Munson, FL; several nieces and nephews.
