 Fairy Evelyn Murphy Haynes, 89, of Dothan, Alabama passed away December 12, 2016, in Birmingham.
    She was a native of Newell, Alabama, next to the youngest of nine children.  She was a graduate of Woodland High School and later attended Jacksonville State University and Auburn University. She spent the majority of her working career in the field of education, retiring as Registrar from Wallace Community College in 1989. After retiring, she devoted her time to gardening and spending time with her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dothan.  
    Fairy is survived by her son, Phillip Murphy (Sandy) Haynes of Webb, Alabama; daughter, Rosemary Haynes (Chip) Faust of Homewood, Alabama; grandchildren, Phillip Lanier Haynes, Kristen Haynes (Brett) Vaughn, Alexandra Faust, Justin Haynes, and William Faust; her sister, Patsy (Rudolph) Braden, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, W. B. and Persha Murphy, her husband of 68 years Dorsey Lanier Haynes, her siblings: Milton (Pete) Murphy, Clarice Murphy, Conard Murphy, William (Bill) Murphy, Henry Murphy, Harry Murphy, Tom Murphy, and several nieces and nephews.
