Frances Andrews King, 89, of Madison, Alabama, peacefully passed away, August 4, 2014, at Madison Manor Nursing Home after an extended illness.  


Funeral services will be held in the Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel, Enterprise, Alabama on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with family visitation from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.   Rev. Roger Stone will be officiating.  Burial will follow in the Daleville Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Enterprise directing.  


Flowers will be accepted or contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th fl., New York, NY 10001.


Mrs. King was born October 27, 1924 on what is now Ft. Rucker.  She was the daughter of the late Ray Ivy Andrews and Annie Jane Warrick Andrews of Daleville.  After graduating from Daleville High School she attended Riley Business College in Dothan, Alabama and worked as a cryptographer and teletype operator at Ft. Rucker, Alabama with a top security clearance.  She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Enterprise, Alabama.


Mrs. King was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest M. King, brother, Will Ivy Andrews, Ozark and an adopted daughter, Regina King who died shortly after birth.  


Survivors include her daughter Ginger King Alford (Larry) Madison, Alabama, and one grandchild, Patrick Alford, Madison, Alabama.  She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Voncile Andrews of Ozark, nephews, Don Stork, League City, Texas, and Mark Andrews, Kernersville, North Carolina, nieces, Connie Stork Hataway, Birmingham and Lynne Andrews, Rome, Georgia and great nieces and nephews and many cousins that she held dear.    


Special thank you to the staff at Madison Manor Nursing Home, Comfort Care Hospice, Advantage Hospice, the doctors, nurses and to all the first responders that were called so many times to help with lift support.
