FRANCES  BLOUNT  HASTY



COLUMBIA. . .Frances Blount Hasty, a resident of Columbia, died early Friday morning, June 20, 2014, at her home. She was 85.


            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 21, 2014, in the Camp Springs Baptist Church with Reverend Jim Corley and Reverend Larry Elliott officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Saturday in the church sanctuary.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Camp Springs Baptist Church, c/o Sharon Elliott, 12039 County Road 53, Columbia, Alabama, 36319.


            Mrs. Hasty was born and reared in Henry County, near Columbia, daughter of the late Thomas B. Blount and Margaret Gertrude Love Blount. She was a graduate of Headland High School and lived in the Camp Springs community most of her adult lifetime. Mrs. Hasty was a member of the Camp Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Monford Hasty, a son, Joe Blount Hasty, a daughter-in-law, Kitty Farmer Hasty, three sisters, Evelyn Causey, Janie Wiggins, and Martha Sue Adams, a brother, Guy L. Blount, and a special friend, Harold S. (Boots) Murphy.


            Surviving relatives include a son, James Clay Hasty (Kathy), Columbia, four grandchildren, Joseph Lee Hasty, Karla Rhea German (Rex), Holly Britain (Thomas) and Dale Duncan (Kat), six great-grandchildren, Anthony Hall, Amy Burkett, Hannah Singleton, Logan Duncan, Payton Jinks, and Freya Duncan, and two great-great grandchildren; special nieces and nephews, Jean Aman, Patti Parrish, Tony Savelle (Jerri), Rabon Holland (Annie), Eloise Dukes, Olice (Buddy) Carter, Jr., Diane Matthews (Clark); special friends of the family, Gloria Murphy, Vicky Murphy, Diane Chapman (David), Lucy Burkett, and Martha Goree.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Clark Matthews, Rabon Holland, Kenneth Burkett, Bob Blount, Jeff Goree, and Kevin Backus.
