Obituary: Mr. Francis M Dismukes

 

            Mr. Francis Dismukes of Enterprise passed away Thursday evening, May 8, 2014 in the Troy Health and Rehabilitation Center.  He was 97.

The family will receive friends at Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory in Enterprise on Sunday beginning at 2:00pm.  Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home. Private burial will follow in the Meadowlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Mr. Dismukes was born January 23, 1917 in New Brockton to the late Enoch Marvin and Emma Prestwood Dismukes.  He was a member of First United Methodist Church.

His wife of 79 years, Annie Arnez Lee Dismukes, and one grandson, Christopher Mark Dismukes, preceded him in death.

He is survived by a son, Robert M. Dismukes (Cecelia) of Spring Hill; a daughter, Jacquelyn Dismukes McNair (Gary) of Tarentum; 4 grandchildren: Matthew Dismukes, Denise Ellis, Joanna Erwin, Jim Johnson; 11 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; 2 nieces: Betty Sheppard and Janice Monk.
