Mr. Franklin Brown Tiner of River Road, Samson, Alabama went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, May 20, 2015.  He was 77.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Friday, May 29, 2015, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Gene Hauser officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening beginning at 5 p.m. and continue until service time.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mr. Tiner was born December 15, 1937 in Ft. Myers, Florida to the late James Arthur and Sarah Alice Brown Tiner.  Frank attended Ft. Myers High School until he entered the Navy at the age of 17.  During his years in Ft. Myers he owned and operated G & T Glass Company and also Alico Road Nursery.  Upon moving to Alabama he established Tiner’s Nursery.  He enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the camp in the Everglades.  He was a member of Trinity Church in Geneva.

In addition to his parents, four brothers: Billy, Harold, Paul and Bunny Tiner, as well as one sister-in-law, Lou K. Tiner all preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Laura Benson Tiner of Samson, AL; three sons: Larry Franklin Tiner (Frankie) of Labelle, FL, Franklin Adam Tiner and David Shane Tiner all of Samson, AL; two grandchildren: Ben Ross Tiner (Erin) of Cape Coral, FL and Kailah Marie Tiner of Ft. Myers, FL; one brother, Jack Tiner; one sister, Madge Bright and husband Frank all of Panama City, FL; two sisters-in-law: Nell Tiner of Alva, FL and Inez Tiner of Ft. Myers, FL; several special nieces, nephews, other extend family, friends and church family.
