Fred Wilber, 80 a resident of Wicksburg, passed away Monday November 23, 2015 at a local nursing home.


Funeral services will be held 3pm Friday, November 27, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2pm-3pm Friday.


Mr. Wilber was born June 24, 1935 in New York and he resided the early years of his life there. Mr. Wilber joined the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. He moved to Dothan in 1961 and was employed as an auto mechanic until his retirement in 1999. Mr. Wilber was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers and sisters. He was a member of the American Legion.


Survivors include his son-in-law, Sonny (Debbie) Booth; his grandchildren, Amanda Booth, Jessica Booth and Bobby Ray Wall Wallace; a daughter; several nieces and nephews.
